Caribbean is a region consisting the Caribbean Sea, the islands and the coasts surrounding it, located in the east of Central America, southeast of the Northern America and the Gulf of Mexico, and in the north of South America. The Caribbean region comprises of over 7,000 islands, reefs and cays. The islands are also known as the West Indies, after the famous incident of Christopher Columbus coming to this place and mistaking it as India.

In geographic divisions, the Caribbean islands are considered a sub region of the Central America, which has a population of more than 40 million people. Culturally, it is rich and diverse, with people from Asia, Europe, and even Africa setting in the place for many decades. The majority people in the Caribbean speak French, English, Dutch and Portuguese due to their ancestry for many ages. Since, it is a group of islands, the climate varies from place to place is dependant on the location and proximity to the Sea.
