Vision is the ability of a living being to comprehend information emitted from visible light that reaches the eyes. The resulting perception of the information is known the vision. It is also referred as eyesight. The study of vision and the components that contribute to it are widely varied and includes subjects like neuroscience, psychology, optical science and many more.

The visual system of most living things allow them to interpret information from the surrounding environment with the help of the eye organs. The lens of an eye focuses on an image, and light from the image reaches the light-sensitive membrane of the retina. The retina, actually being a part of the brain transmits the information through transducers and thus the information is stored. The efficiency of the whole system determines the vision of a particular being. There are certain theories related to vision, and are helpful in correcting disorders related to the eye.
