Cooking means preparation of food with the application of heat to create various culinary dishes that is pleasing to the taste buds. The art of cooking is a skill to be possessed by a very few. It varies across the globe reflecting the cultural, social, agricultural and economical diversity characterized by race, caste, creed and culture. It incorporates a wide range of processes and a lot many ingredients are added to change the color, flavor, texture and digestibility of the food. Application of heat on the food chemically transforms it to give it a variance of color, texture etc.

Cooking also helps in the killing of bacteria and other germs that are present in the raw vegetables.9 out of 10 professional chefs are males albeit in the Indian household, cooking is mostly seen being done by the females.
